Russian air defences down 36 Ukrainian drones in overnight operation
Russian air defense forces intercepted and downed 36 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) overnight, the Ministry of Defence said.
The largest number of UAVs were destroyed over the Kursk region, where 18 drones were brought down, Caliber.Az reports via Russian Defence Ministry.
Additionally, 13 drones were intercepted in the Rostov region, while two were shot down in both the Oryol and Belgorod regions. One drone was also downed in the Krasnodar Krai region.
The interception occurred between the evening of April 11 and the morning of April 12, highlighting the ongoing military activity along Russia's border regions. The Russian Ministry of Defence confirmed that all UAVs were of the aircraft-type and were successfully neutralized by the country’s air defence systems.
This series of drone interceptions reflects the continued use of UAVs in the conflict and Russia's efforts to counter these aerial threats.
