Russian air defences down multiple drones near Moscow, mayor says

Russian air defence systems have intercepted and destroyed another unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the Moscow region, according to local authorities.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said emergency services are currently working at the site where the drone crashed, Caliber.Az reports. 

“Another UAV has been shot down. Emergency response teams are working at the crash site,” Sobyanin wrote on the messaging platform Max.

Officials report that a total of nine drones heading toward Moscow have been shot down since the beginning of the day.
