Russian air defences intercept 26 Ukrainian drones in overnight operation

Russian air defence units successfully intercepted and destroyed 26 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones during the course of overnight operations, the Russian Ministry of Defence reported.

The ministry noted that the bulk of the unmanned aerial vehicles were downed over Bryansk Oblast, where 17 drones were neutralized. Seven additional drones were destroyed over Smolensk Oblast, while one drone each was intercepted over Belgorod Oblast and the territory of the Republic of Crimea.

The Russian ministry characterized the operation as a demonstration of the readiness and effectiveness of Russian air defence forces in countering unmanned aerial threats. No further details regarding potential damage or casualties were provided.
