Russian airports return to normal operations after temporary safety measures
Temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of civilian flights at several Russian airports have been lifted, Rosaviatsiya confirmed.
According to Rosaviatsiya spokesperson Artyom Korenyako's post on Telegram, airports now operating normally include Moscow’s Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Zhukovsky, and Sheremetyevo, as well as Grozny (Severny), Vladikavkaz (Beslan), Magas, Makhachkala (Uytash), Tambov (Donskoye), and Yaroslavl (Tunoshna). A restriction remains in place at Kaluga Airport.
The measures were introduced to ensure flight safety and were in effect for several hours. The restrictions had impacted multiple airports, including Moscow’s major hubs, and Sheremetyevo was affected starting the evening of December 10.
With the lifting of the restrictions, all affected airports in Moscow and other regions have resumed normal operations.
