Russian authorities evacuate schools in two regions following threat reports video

Several schools in the Russian city of Khanty-Mansiysk were evacuated after authorities received threat messages, according to operational services in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.

A source told Russian media that multiple schools were cleared as a precaution after the warnings were reported. Law enforcement agencies are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the threats.

Separately, an evacuation took place the morning of January 27 at a school in the Yuzhnoye Butovo district of Moscow after structural concerns were identified in the building.

Before classes began, a beam in the school’s gymnasium was found to be sagging. The school immediately contacted emergency services and organised the evacuation of students to nearby buildings belonging to the same school complex.

“We promptly called emergency responders and evacuated the children to neighbouring school buildings,” said Anna Postnikova, principal of School No. 1354, in comments to Moscow 24.

She emphasised that the evacuation was carried out in an orderly manner, with teachers escorting all students, and confirmed that there was no threat to the children’s health.

Authorities are now conducting a full inspection of the building. The school is preparing a formal claim against the developer and has also launched an expert assessment to determine whether the facility and specific areas can continue to be used safely.
