A group of Russian climbers has been trapped on Sidley volcano in Antarctica, where nighttime temperatures drop to −42 °C, as a severe blizzard prevents movement.
According to the SHOT Telegram channel, 12 Russian climbers, led by guides Artyom Rostovtsev and Alexander Dorozhukov, set out for one of the harshest places on Earth — Sidley, a dormant volcano rising 4,285 meters, Caliber.Az reports.
The team reached only 1,500 meters before extreme weather struck, leaving the climbers unable to advance for six days.
