Russian Deputy PM leads delegation to Caspian Economic Forum in Tehran
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk has arrived in Tehran to lead the Russian delegation at the Third Caspian Economic Forum.
During his visit, Overchuk is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Iran's leadership and will speak at the forum on February 18, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The Russian delegation includes officials from various ministries, including Foreign Affairs, Economic Development, Transport, Energy, Natural Resources, Industry and Trade, Agriculture, Federal Customs Service, and Russian Railways.
The forum, which began on February 17 and will run for two days, will focus on strengthening cooperation across various sectors, including banking, investments, trade and industry, energy, environmental protection, and transportation among the Caspian littoral states.
The forum’s agenda is expansive, with discussions covering economic, trade, scientific, and logistical cooperation, as well as healthcare, energy, and finance. Tourism development and increasing investments in free trade zones will also be key topics.
One of the forum's key objectives is to review the current state of cooperation in these sectors and explore opportunities for expanding investments and resolving logistical challenges. At the conclusion of the forum, a declaration is expected to be signed.
The Caspian Five — Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan — are the main participants in this ongoing collaboration.
