Russian diplomat responds to Ukrainian leader's crude comment
Spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova has said that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is unaware that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s recent remark with three letters referred to the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG).
“Scholz has no idea that Zelenskyy was referring to Germany,” she responded to the Ukrainian politician's sharp remark towards Russia during a joint press conference with Scholz on December 2, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
On December 2, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited Kyiv for the first time in more than two years to hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
His previous visit took place in June 2022, alongside French President Emmanuel Macron. This time, upon his arrival, Scholz reiterated that Germany remains "the most determined supporter of Ukraine in Europe" and announced a new arms shipment worth 650 million euros.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that more and more Ukrainians are expressing dissatisfaction with President Zelenskyy's policy. He also noted that European views on the conflict between Kyiv and Moscow are shifting, and that the onset of peace negotiations will depend on how events unfold.
