One person was killed and five others, including two children, were injured in a series of Russian drone attacks across Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on the evening of December 7 and into the night of December 8, regional officials said.
According to Vladyslav Haivanenko, acting head of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration, Russian forces used FPV drones to strike the Zelenodolsk and Hrushivka hromadas in the Kryvyi Rih district late Friday evening. A 51-year-old man in Hrushivka sustained severe injuries; doctors were unable to save his life, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
A separate drone strike on the Mezhyrich hromada in the Pavlohrad district left four people injured, including a 14-year-old boy. A 41-year-old woman is reported to be in critical condition.
In the Nikopol district, a 13-year-old girl was injured in another attack.
The strikes caused widespread damage across several districts. In the Kryvyi Rih area, an agricultural enterprise, a residential house, and a gas pipeline were hit, and a caravan caught fire. In the Pavlohrad district, a house burned down, while two more homes, an outbuilding and a car were damaged. In the Nikopol district, two five-storey buildings, an art school and a car were struck.
A drone attack on the city of Dnipro caused a fire at an office building and damaged three apartment blocks and a vehicle.
Haivanenko said Ukrainian air defence units intercepted eight Russian drones over the region during the attacks.
