Russian envoy: Moldova moving toward cutting economic ties with Moscow
Moldova's current leadership is effectively steering the country toward a complete break in economic relations with Russia, according to Russia's ambassador to Moldova, Oleg Ozerov.
Speaking at the "Russia–Moldova" session during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Ozerov said economic cooperation between the two countries has been significantly constrained by political decisions taken by Moldova's government, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
"The first factor is the position of the current leadership of the Republic of Moldova, which has chosen a path toward European integration without taking into account historical, economic, and humanitarian ties," Ozerov said. "In practice, this course is leading to a complete severance of our relations."
