Russia rejects Zaporizhzhia NPP management jointly with US
Russia’s Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, commented on the situation regarding the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).
Ulyanov stated that the issue of joint management of the Zaporizhzhia NPP with the United States is not on the current agenda, and such initiatives have not been discussed by Russia’s mission in Vienna, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Russian Foreign Ministry press service.
“The Zaporizhzhia NPP is under Russian ownership and is operated with the support of Rosenergoatom, a subsidiary of Rosatom. This structure is successfully fulfilling its responsibilities,” the diplomat said.
He added that any changes to the management of the plant would require a “very serious justification,” which, from the Vienna perspective, is “not currently apparent.”
