Russian FM: European powers assert aggressive presence in Black Sea

European countries are aggressively expanding influence in the Black Sea region, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated. 

In an interview with NTV channel, he emphasised that these countries are ignoring the existing Organisation of Black Sea Economic Cooperation, Caliber.Az reports.

“Europe is pushing aggressively into the Black Sea region, disregarding the existing Organization of Black Sea Cooperation. The same applies to the Arctic,” Lavrov stated.

He added that the European Union has considered itself capable and, above all, entitled to intervene in these processes and claim a leading role.
