Russian FM set to discuss prisoner exchanges with ICRC chief

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that he intends to discuss prisoner exchanges with Mirjana Spoljaric, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Lavrov noted that the issue would also be addressed during Spoljaric’s meetings with officials from Russia’s Defence Ministry, as well as with the country’s human rights and children’s rights commissioners.

“Specific aspects of our cooperation with the ICRC on humanitarian issues, including the situation of prisoners and prisoner exchanges, will be discussed not only here today, but also during your meetings at the Russian Ministry of Defense, with the Russian Commissioner for Human Rights, [Yana Lantratova], and with the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights, [Maria Lvova-Belova],” Lavrov told Spoljaric.
