Russian forces intercept mass wave of Ukrainian drones overnight

Russian air defence forces shot down 85 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles overnight, the Russian Defence Ministry announced on April 15.

“In the period from 20:00 Moscow time on April 14 to 07:00 Moscow time on April 15, air defence units on duty intercepted and destroyed 85 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles,” the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry specified that the drones were destroyed over the territories of the Belgorod, Voronezh, Rostov, Samara and Saratov regions, as well as over the Republic of Crimea and the waters of the Azov and Black Seas.

Earlier the same day, air defence forces shot down a Ukrainian drone over Kamensk-Shakhtinsky. No casualties were reported.
