Russian forces shoot down dozens of drones in mass nighttime assault

Russian air defence forces shot down 50 Ukrainian drones overnight, according to the country’s Defence Ministry.

The ministry said that between 21:00 Moscow time on May 17 and 07:00 on May 18, a total of 50 unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted and destroyed.

The drones were downed over the Belgorod, Kursk, Voronezh, Rostov, Oryol and Tula regions, as well as in the Krasnodar region, Crimea, and over the waters of the Sea of Azov.
