Russian FSB thwarts planned terrorist attack at Krasnodar military airfield video
Authorities in Russia have foiled a planned terrorist attack at a military airfield in the Krasnodar Territory, where a man intended to set fire to a military aircraft, according to the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia.
The FSB press service, cited by TV channel “Russia.Kuban,” reported that the 40-year-old Russian citizen was acting on instructions from Ukrainian special services. The suspect allegedly maintained contact with Ukrainian intelligence via messaging applications, sending photos and videos detailing the operation of military facilities in the Kuban region.
According to the FSB, under the guidance of his handler, the man prepared incendiary mixtures and planned to ignite a military aeroplane stationed at one of the local airfields.
Regional FSB officers detained the individual while he was in the process of preparing the attack. A criminal investigation has been launched, and the suspect faces a potential sentence of life imprisonment.
