Russian imports of new cars via Kyrgyzstan surge 156% in 2026

Russia imported 47,800 new passenger cars from Kyrgyzstan in the first eight months of 2026, a 156% increase compared with the same period last year, according to automotive analyst Sergey Tselikov.

Chinese-made vehicles accounted for more than 80% of the cars imported through Kyrgyzstan. The shipments also included vehicles manufactured in Germany, Japan and the United States, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

Tselikov noted that 78% of the imported vehicles had engine outputs exceeding 160 horsepower.

The Toyota RAV4 was the most popular model, with 5,560 units imported, followed by the Toyota Highlander with 5,150 and the Audi Q5 with 3,000.

Other models in the top 10 included the Toyota Camry, Volkswagen Tiguan, Geely Monjaro, BMW X3, Volkswagen Teramont, Audi Q3 and the electric Zeekr 9X.
