Russian military downs 19 Ukrainian drones over three regions
Russian forces have reported shooting down 19 Ukrainian drones over the Bryansk, Kursk, and Kaluga regions during the night.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, 16 drones were intercepted over Bryansk, two over Kursk, and one over Kaluga, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian Defence Ministry.
Note that, Ukraine marked the somber third anniversary of Russia’s invasion on February 24, with its forces facing mounting pressure on the frontlines. The anniversary saw over a dozen Western leaders attend commemorative events in Kyiv, demonstrating strong support for Ukraine.
They emphasised the war's global security implications and pledged continued financial aid, even as doubts grow about the future of US commitment. In fact, Washington did not send any senior officials.
Following the observances, former US President Donald Trump suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin might accept European peacekeepers in a potential peace deal, though Putin indicated no direct discussions with Trump regarding a resolution.
The war’s fourth year is expected to be crucial as Trump seeks to push for peace during his political comeback.
