Russian navy ships dock in Jakarta for joint drills with Indonesian army
A detachment of Russian Pacific Fleet vessels arrived on March 29 at Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta, Antara News reports. The servicemen will conduct joint exercises with the Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL).
According to the Russian Embassy in Jakarta, the detachment includes the corvette Gromky-335, the submarine B-274 Petropavlovsk Kamchatsky, and the tugboat Andrey Stepanov.
At the welcoming ceremony, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to joint efforts to maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
The planned exercises include manoeuvring and communication support, while prior to the drills, Russian ship commanders and crews are scheduled for working meetings, ceremonial events, and sports matches with their Indonesian counterparts.
On March 31, the Russian warships will be open for public visits, with prior registration required.
Previous joint exercises between the two countries took place in May 2025, featuring the corvettes Aldar Tsidenzhapov and Rezkiy, along with the tanker Pechenga. These same ships also participated in the fifth multilateral naval exercise Komodo in Bali in February 2025.
