Russian nighttime drone strikes hit educational institution in Sumy, Ukraine
In the early hours of September 11, Russian forces carried out drone attacks on the city of Sumy, targeting an educational institution, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES).
The SES stated that around 1:00 a.m. local time, Russian drones struck a local educational institution, causing significant structural damage and partial destruction to the buildings. One building caught fire as a result of the strike, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
“Rescuers promptly extinguished all fire sources. The impact site has been inspected. The shockwave damaged vehicles and shattered windows in nearby residential buildings,” the SES statement read.
Authorities are continuing to assess the full extent of the damage, while emergency services remain on alert to prevent further incidents.
