Russia says Ukrainian drone strike injures 11 at Rostov museum complex
A Ukrainian drone strike injured 11 people at the Sambek Heights military history museum complex in Russia's Rostov region, according to regional Governor Yuri Slyusar.
Slyusar said the drone hit the museum complex, damaging the main building that houses its information and exhibition centre. He added that, according to preliminary assessments, the museum's exhibits were not damaged, Caliber.Az reports.
The governor said all 11 injured people were taken to a hospital, with nine admitted for treatment while two declined hospitalisation. He added that emergency services were continuing to work at the scene and that information on the casualties could be updated.
In a statement, Slyusar condemned the attack, describing it as an assault on a site of historical and symbolic importance. The Sambek Heights memorial commemorates Soviet soldiers who fought during the 1943 battles to break through German defences along the Mius River in World War II.
