Russian president: Use of national currencies in CIS settlements surpasses 96%

The use of national currencies in settlements among Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries has exceeded 96 percent, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced.

Speaking at an informal CIS summit, the Russian leader stated that entrepreneurs from CIS states are implementing major industrial and infrastructure projects, Caliber.Az reports per TASS.

According to Putin, new Eurasian production and transport chains are being formed, and transcontinental logistics corridors North–South and East–West are being modernised and developed.

“Additionally, import substitution processes are progressing rapidly, thereby strengthening the technological sovereignty of our states,” the president added.
