Russian pundit: Baku destroys French intelligence stationed in Azerbaijan
Russian political scientist Stanislav Tarasov has said that Azerbaijan destroyed the entire French intelligence station in the country.
“Azerbaijan is entering into a sharp confrontation with France because Macron has begun to position himself as a bodyguard, a guardian angel of Armenia. Macron intensified the work of his intelligence, and you know how Erdogan arrested batches of Mossad agents, and Aliyev struck at the entire French intelligence station,” Tarasov said in an interview with the Armenian media, commenting on relations between Baku and Paris, Caliber.Az reports.
"As for the question that Türkiye is protecting Baku, I want to say, the fact is that Azerbaijan does not need protection. And from whom are they protecting? Is Russia threatening Azerbaijan? No. I don't rule out that there are some agreements between Türkiye and Russia. Does Iran threaten? No. After agreements were reached on the North-South corridor through Azerbaijan to Iran, and after Azerbaijan removed the Zangezur issue from the agenda and said that we would build communications through Iran and Tehran would integrate into the process, Armenia found itself with nothing. Armenia found itself in isolation.
Yes, I believe that the relations between Paris and Baku have aggravated because of Armenia. And there are no more hidden reasons here, it's more because of Armenia than anything else. The fact is that I always evaluate Aliyev’s foreign policy with scepticism, but we have to admit and be objective, in the sense that he is very brilliantly oriented in foreign policy. He has perfectly dealt with the West, he felt the centre of power, and he reformatted his policy," the political scientist said.
