Russian religious leader hails efforts to foster regional peace PHOTO

Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Patriarch Kirill has stressed the importance of efforts for promoting regional peace.

He made the relevant remarks at the meeting with Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office, Sheikh-ul-islam Allahshukur Pashazade, who is on a visit to Moscow, APA reports.

Patriarch of Russia Kirill welcomed  Pashazade and stressed the importance of personal meetings.

“We regularly meet with you, and I think that these meetings should be continued. Such meetings create a favourable atmosphere in relations, have a positive effect on interstate relations and, at the same time, on the solution of unresolved issues. There is such a format for over 30 years. I think that especially during conflicts, we should step up efforts to positively influence the situation, achieve real results and change the situation for the better,” Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia noted.

Pashazade presented portrait carpet to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia at the end of the meeting.
