Tajik national wanted for extremism extradited from Azerbaijan
A 24-year-old citizen of Tajikistan, Saddam Romishovich Mirzoev, who was internationally wanted for alledged involvement in the activities of a banned extremist organisation, has been extradited from Azerbaijan to Tajikistan.
Mirzoev had been placed on an interstate wanted list by Tajik authorities. He was detained in Azerbaijan in March 2025, and subsequently placed under arrest as a preventive measure, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan,
His extradition was carried out in accordance with the October 7, 2002 Convention “On Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family, and Criminal Matters.” Mirzoev was handed over to Tajik officials under the escort of a special convoy from Azerbaijan’s Penitentiary Service.
