Russian troops resume air strikes on Azovstal plant – Ukrainian official

Russian troops have resumed air strikes on the Azovstal steel plant in Ukraine’s Mariupol city, and are also trying to carry out assault operations. 

Adviser to the Ukrainian president’s chief of staff Oleksiy Arestovich said at a briefing, Ukrinform reports. 

“The bad news is that Russia is trying to finally suppress the resistance of those defending Mariupol on the territory of Azovstal plant,” adviser said.

“Russia resumed air strikes on the territory of the plant, on the defense area of our troops and is trying to carry out assault operations.” 

Arestovich stressed that Ukrainian servicemen are defending the city despite the hard situation. The Ukrainian military even make counter-attacks.
