Russian, Turkish FMs discuss Iran crisis, Ukraine talks in phone call
Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss the escalating situation in Iran and ongoing developments related to Ukraine, according to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
During the call, the two diplomats addressed the crisis triggered by the United States and Israel's on Iran. Both sides expressed their willingness to support efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the conflict, Caliber.Az reports.
Fidan also raised recent developments concerning Ukraine and discussed the prospects for resuming a trilateral negotiation process involving the United States. He reaffirmed Türkiye's readiness to host such talks in Istanbul.
Lavrov, in turn, shared Russia’s assessment of Ukraine’s current actions and statements, outlining Moscow’s position at this stage of the war.
