Russian, Turkish leaders focus on escalation in Syria over phone talk
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a phone conversation with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, during which he reiterated Ankara’s commitment to supporting Syria’s territorial integrity and its efforts to maintain stability in the neighboring country.
The conversation covered various topics, including bilateral relations between the two countries, the ongoing situation in Syria, and broader regional and global issues, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
President Erdogan emphasized that Türkiye continues to advocate for Syria's territorial integrity and seeks a fair, long-term resolution to the conflict. He also highlighted the importance of increasing diplomatic efforts in the region and stressed that the Syrian regime must be included in the political solution process.
