Russian warships arrive in China for friendly naval visit
A Russian naval group composed of two frigates and a medium-sized supply vessel arrived in Guangdong Province, southern China, on April 15 for a five-day friendly visit.
The ships, carrying both Russian and Chinese flags, berthed that morning at a naval port in Zhanjiang, where Chinese authorities organised a formal welcome ceremony, Caliber.Az reports, citing Xinhua.
Throughout the visit, personnel from both navies are scheduled to tour each other’s vessels, attend official receptions, engage in professional discussions, and take part in sporting competitions.
The arriving ships are part of Russia’s Pacific Fleet and have previously been involved in joint cooperation and exchange programs with the Chinese Navy.
According to officials, the visit is a routine engagement aimed at strengthening mutual trust and practical cooperation, and is not directed against any third party or linked to current regional or global tensions.
