Russian woman urges Belgorod governor to experience drone attacks firsthand video

A resident of Russia’s Belgorod region confronted local authorities over ongoing security risks, urging the regional governor to experience firsthand the conditions faced by civilians living near the frontline.

According to the Telegram channel ASTRA, Belgorod region governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said he noticed on social media an appeal from Marina Gaivassenko, who described the deteriorating operational situation in the town of Grayvoron amid repeated Ukrainian drone attacks. During a working trip to the Grayvoron district, the governor visited the woman to discuss her concerns.

Gaivassenko spoke about the frequency of strikes and said leaving dangerous areas would be the most reasonable solution. When Gladkov suggested relocation, she responded by offering to sell him her home so he could personally live under the same conditions.

“And who will buy it [the house] here? Let me sell it to you,” she said.

Later, the governor acknowledged that her frustration was justified and described the exchange as tense.

“The conversation was difficult. She was angry. She says, buy my house and live in it yourself. She is absolutely right. Living and raising children in such conditions is impossible. Of course, we must look for a solution,” Gladkov wrote.

He added that authorities are working to strengthen regional defences and improve the combat readiness of local units, while admitting that these measures alone are not enough to fully resolve the situation.

The Grayvoron district has repeatedly come under drone attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
