Schoolgirl attacks two sisters with knife in Ufa, Russia

A 16-year-old girl is suspected of attacking a fellow schoolgirl and her younger sister with a knife in Ufa, Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan.

The victims, aged 16 and nine, were hospitalised, and the suspect was promptly detained, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

According to preliminary data, the teenage girl went to visit an acquaintance while her parents were away.

A conflict broke out between the schoolgirls, during which the visitor grabbed a knife and attacked the two children.

“There was a conflict between two 16-year-old girls, as a result of which one of them stabbed her peer and her nine-year-old sister. Their brother, born in 2016, was not injured. The minors were hospitalised at a medical facility,” the prosecutor’s office said.

Bashkortostan Health Ministry reported that the victims are in serious condition.

“Doctors urgently began operations, which have just been completed. The older girl is currently in extremely serious condition. The younger girl’s condition is assessed as serious but stable. They are receiving all necessary medical care,” Minister of Health Airat Rakhmatullin noted.

A criminal case has been opened on charges of attempted murder of two or more people.
