Second incident in week: Azur Air jet declares emergency UPDATED
A Boeing 757 operated by Azur Air, en route from Nha Trang, Vietnam, to Irkutsk, Russia, was forced to make an emergency landing in Hanoi after sending a distress signal while flying at an altitude of 7,000 metres.
The information was published by the Telegram channel Mash, which said the aircraft circled the Vietnamese capital to burn off fuel before landing safely.
Up to 238 passengers were on board at the time of the incident. Authorities later confirmed that the emergency landing was triggered by the failure of one of the plane’s engines.
This marks the second emergency incident involving the same aircraft within a week. Last week, the plane made an unplanned landing in China due to engine issues.
Officials reported that the landing at Hanoi Airport was successful, and all passengers were safe. Aviation authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the engine failure.
