Secretary General: NATO ready to collaborate with any future US president
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has expressed confidence that the alliance will successfully and constructively collaborate with any future US president to prevent Russia from strengthening its position in Ukraine.
Rutte emphasised that NATO and collective defence are crucial not just for Europe but also for the US, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
He welcomed the upcoming defence agreement between Germany and the UK, stating that it will enhance the alliance's security.
"If Russia succeeds in Ukraine—and we will prevent that—it would pose a threat to all allies," Rutte added.
The West has recently discussed the possibility of a direct armed conflict between NATO and Russia.
In response, the Kremlin has stated that Russia does not pose a threat but will not overlook actions that could jeopardize its interests.
