Serbia denies arms supplies to Ukraine
Serbian Defence Minister Milos Vucevic has denied media allegations of Serbia’s supplying arms to Ukraine, as revealed in secret Pentagon documents leaked online, Serbia's newspaper Telegraf reports.
"We have denied that lie more than ten times and here we are doing it again. Serbia has not and will not sell arms to Ukraine, Russia or the countries surrounding this conflict," he said.
The defence minister added that Serbia was trying to "get dragged into the conflict". Vucevic assured that Belgrade only sells weapons to third countries which are far away from Russia's war against Ukraine.
"There is always the possibility that some weapons will somehow magically be found on the territory of the conflict, but this has absolutely nothing to do with Serbia. This is an issue for those countries that do not respect international norms, treaty provisions and business practices. I repeat, Serbia has not sent weapons to Ukraine and everything published on this topic is false speculation," the minister said.
For the record, Reuters earlier analysed classified US intelligence data published online. Among them was a document marked Secret and NOFORN indicating that Serbia might have agreed to supply arms to Ukraine.
