Belarus sends medical teams to Russia's Bryansk after drone strike on bus PHOTO/UPDATED

Three medical teams from Belarus have been dispatched to Russia's Bryansk region to assist victims following a drone strike on a bus with children.

The medical teams travelled to the affected area under escort from the Belarusian Traffic Police and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Belarusian media reports. 

The children's trip involved in the incident had been organised privately. The agency also reported that the wife of one of the coaches accompanying the group was among those killed in the attack.

Belarusian authorities are providing assistance to those affected and remain in close contact with their Russian counterparts.

The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the attack, expressing solidarity with the victims and their families.

Seven people, including five children, have been hospitalised following a reported drone attack on a bus carrying children from Belarus in Russia’s Bryansk region, according to Russian officials.

Alexei Kuznetsov, assistant to the Russian Minister of Health, said all those injured in the incident were receiving medical treatment in hospital, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media. 

“Seven people injured in the drone attack on a bus in the Bryansk region have been hospitalised, including five children. All of the injured are receiving the full range of necessary medical care,” he said.

The Russian Ministry of Health said one victim is in serious condition, while the remaining patients are in moderate condition.

Authorities also said the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case in connection with the incident.
