12 August 2025 09:40
Air travel in parts of central Russia has been disrupted, with multiple regional airports suspending flights, the country’s aviation authority, Rosaviatsiya, said on August 12.
Rosaviatsiya confirmed that Saratov’s Gagarin Airport is temporarily not serving flights, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
In the neighbouring Penza region, authorities have activated the “Kovor” contingency plan, imposing restrictions on both arrivals and departures, regional governor Oleg Melnichenko announced.
Similar temporary flight restrictions have also been introduced at airports in Samara, Kazan and Ulyanovsk, according to Rosaviatsiya, which did not specify the cause of the measures.
