Severe blaze at oil depot triggers state of emergency in Russia’s Rostov

A state of emergency has been declared in Russia’s Rostov region after a nighttime drone attack triggered a large fire at an oil depot in the settlement of Matveyev Kurgan.
District administration head Dina Alborova said on Telegram that the fire began at around 02:20 a.m. Moscow time on May 31. The blaze covers an area of 3,600 square meters, with more than 100 people involved in firefighting efforts. The fire has not yet been contained.
Preliminary reports indicate that 17 residential houses, a car, three shops, and a pharmacy were damaged.
