Six minors killed in car crash and fire in Tatarstan

Six people were killed, and one remains in critical condition following a road accident in the city of Zelenodolsk in Tatarstan on July 24, according to Russian media reports.

The crash occurred when the driver of a passenger vehicle lost control, causing the car to strike a tree at high speed before catching fire.

Seven individuals were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. Six died in the blaze, while the seventh occupant sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital, where doctors are continuing efforts to save his life.

Preliminary information indicates that all those involved in the accident were minors.

Emergency services said 33 personnel and 13 units of specialised equipment were deployed to respond to the incident and manage its aftermath.

The circumstances of the crash are under investigation.
