Six-month-old baby killed in drone strike on house near Moscow PHOTO
A six-month-old baby was killed, and two other people were injured after a drone crashed into a private home near Moscow, sparking a fire, Russian authorities said.
According to Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov, the incident occurred overnight in the town of Yegoryevsk, Caliber.Az reports.
“Last night, a private home caught fire in Yegoryevsk after a drone crashed. People were trapped under the rubble. Rescuers quickly extracted two adults and two children. Unfortunately, a six-month-old baby died on the way to the hospital. The injured have been hospitalised, and doctors are providing them with all necessary care,” Vorobyov said.
The governor said Russian air defence and electronic warfare systems had intercepted a total of 60 drones over the Moscow region, including in the districts of Domodedovo, Chekhov, Dubna, Kashira, Voskresensk, Pavlovsky Posad, Odintsovo, Bronnitsy, Ramenskoye, Stupino, Kolomna and Yegoryevsk.
He added that falling drone debris damaged an administrative building in the city of Dubna, although no injuries were reported there.
Vorobyov also said another drone struck a private home in the village of Fateevo in the Pavlovsky Posad district, with no casualties reported. Drone debris was also found in the Ramenskoye and Kolomna districts, where emergency services were responding.
