Six teenagers detained in Moscow after firing signal pistols at security guards

Russian police have detained six people aged between 14 and 18 after they allegedly fired signal pistols at private security guards who tried to stop them from climbing onto the roof of a high-rise building in Moscow, Russia’s Interior Ministry said.

The suspects, who are residents of the Moscow region, were detained on Gorbunova Street by officers from Moscow’s central criminal investigation department, according to ministry spokesperson Vladimir Vasenin, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media. 

The group had allegedly attempted to gain access to the roof of a high-rise building on Shmitovsky Proezd. Security guards intervened and stopped them in the building’s entrance, after which the teenagers allegedly sprayed the guards with pepper spray and fired signal pistols in their direction while fleeing.

The guards called police, Vasenin said.

The detainees and evidence collected during the investigation were handed over to investigators, who opened a criminal case on charges of hooliganism under Part 2 of Article 213 of Russia’s Criminal Code.

Two of the suspects have been arrested, while four others have been placed under house arrest, according to the ministry.
