Smoke rises near Russia's Gelendzhik airport as UAV threat closes beaches PHOTO

Smoke was seen near Gelendzhik Airport in Russia’s Krasnodar region after local authorities closed the city’s beaches amid a reported threat from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), according to an OSINT analysis by ASTRA.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing smoke in the vicinity of the airport. The smoke was initially white before turning black.

An OSINT analyst assessed that the smoke was rising from the area of Tonky Cape, north of the airport’s runway.

Local authorities have not disclosed the cause of the smoke or confirmed whether it was linked to the reported UAV threat.
