"Spider-Man" arrested in Russia for promoting illegal drug sales PHOTO
Police in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk have arrested a 22-year-old man who allegedly dressed as Spider-Man while spray-painting graffiti advertising illegal drug marketplaces.
According to authorities, the suspect carried out the graffiti campaigns at night while wearing a superhero mask to conceal his identity. The graffiti reportedly contained contact information and addresses linked to online platforms selling illegal narcotics, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Investigators say the man photographed the graffiti after completing each assignment and sent the images to those who had hired him as proof of the work.
During a search of his home, police reportedly seized spray paint cans and found photographs of the graffiti on his mobile phone.
The suspect has been placed in custody and is under investigation. If convicted on the most serious charges, he could face a prison sentence of up to 20 years under Russian law.
