State Security Service releases video confession of suspect of treason VIDEO

The Azerbaijani State Security Service (SSS) released a video clip of Azerbaijani citizen, Aydin Zakiyev, confessing that he collaborated with members of the Armenian special services.

Oxu.az reports that the footage was included in the documentary film Qartal Zirvada, telling about the activities of the State Security Service, which was broadcasted on Xazar TV.

Zakiev (52) was detained by the SSS officers last October. As a result of operational and investigative measures, there were reasonable suspicions that he committed high treason, causing damage to the sovereignty, territorial integrity, state security and defence capacity of the country through espionage, and assisting representatives of the Armenian special services in the implementation of hostile activities against Azerbaijan.

Moreover, it was proven that he had been tasked with facilitating the recruitment of additional individuals to engage in covert cooperation with this intelligence organization and his imprisonment prevented this criminal activities.
