Sultan Ahmet Mosque in Istanbul reopens after 5-year pause UPDATED/PHOTO

Istanbul's world-renowned Sultan Ahmet Mosque was reopened on April 21 today with the participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The mosque's reopening came after 5-year-long restoration works which were rolled out in 2018, reports TRT Haber.

The Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Türkiye, which has been closed for a major overhaul for 5 years and 5 months, will reopen on April 21.
CNN Turk reports that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will attend the opening ceremony of the mosque.
The mosque, which was built in 161-1611, was closed for repairs in 2018.
