Superjet abruptly aborts takeoff from Moscow after suspected fire warning

A Superjet abruptly aborted takeoff from Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport after a fire warning was triggered aboard the aircraft.

According to the SHOT Telegram channel, the Yamal Airlines aircraft was operating a flight from Domodedovo to Salekhard when the fire warning system for the auxiliary power unit activated in the cockpit at a speed of around 225 km/h. The warning was switched off while the aircraft was accelerating along the runway.

The pilots aborted the takeoff and returned to the terminal, while the warning itself did not disappear at that point. No signs of fire were later found on the aircraft. Despite this, the plane was grounded for several days.
