Swiss city residents asked not to wash cars to save water
06 August 2022 05:00
Authorities in the Swiss city of Butte have asked local residents not to wash their cars to save water.
“The municipal council urges residents to limit water consumption due to high temperatures. It is recommended not to fill swimming pools, not to wash cars and not to water gardens,” Gazeta.ru reports citing RTN radio.
It is noted that this decision was made due to the heat, which affected the water level in the River.
On the eve, Politico publication reported that the heat led to an increase in deaths in Europe.
In particular, a record surge in deaths in July was observed in Germany, where temperatures reached 40°C, as well as in Spain and Portugal, where temperatures were another five degrees Celsius higher.
