Sybiha: Azerbaijan’s humanitarian aid to Ukraine exceeds $45 million since 2022
Azerbaijan has provided more than $45 million in humanitarian assistance to Ukraine since 2022, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said, highlighting Baku’s continued support amid the ongoing war.
In a post on X, Sybiha noted that Azerbaijan had also delivered five passenger buses during the latest visit, intended for use by local communities.
“During this visit, Azerbaijan has provided five passenger buses to Ukraine as humanitarian assistance for the needs of our communities,” he wrote.
The minister stressed that Azerbaijan has consistently contributed to supporting the Ukrainian population over the past several years.
“Since 2022, Azerbaijan has repeatedly made its contribution to supporting the Ukrainian people. In particular, it has provided more than $45 million in humanitarian aid, including high-capacity generators, transformers, and critical equipment that help keep our energy system running under constant attacks,” he said.
Sybiha also underscored Azerbaijan’s role in assisting Ukrainian children affected by the war, describing it as especially meaningful.
“Equally important is the support for our children. More than 500 Ukrainian children have taken part in recovery programs on the territory of Azerbaijan – something especially precious in times of war,” he noted.
Expressing appreciation for Baku’s efforts, the Ukrainian foreign minister added: “We deeply value this solidarity, because it helps Ukraine stand firm and move forward.”
