Syrian prime minister uncertain about future of country's army
Syrian Prime Minister Mohammed Ghazi al-Jalali has expressed uncertainty regarding the future of the Syrian armed forces, noting that their fate will depend on decisions made by the country's new leadership.
"I don't have an answer to [the question] about the fate of the Syrian army. It will depend on who assumes command," al-Jalali told media, Caliber.Az reports citing foreign media.
Commenting on the current situation in Syria, the Prime Minister emphasized that the primary goal is to "strengthen security" within the country. He also acknowledged the exhaustion of the Syrian people, stating that they have grown tired after years of ongoing conflict.

In a statement, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) head Abu Mohammed al-Julani said al-Jalali, appointed prime minister by al-Assad in September, will remain at the helm until the transition.
Syrian rebels seized the capital Damascus unopposed on December 8 after a lightning advance that sent President Bashar al-Assad fleeing after a 13-year civil war.
