Syrian, Libyan forces join Türkiye’s EFES-2026 military exercise
Syrian military personnel and Libyan forces are taking part in Türkiye’s EFES-2026 military exercise as part of a core unit deployment.
It is the first time Syrian forces have participated in drills outside the country since the restructuring of the Syrian state, and Libyan forces have conducted military training outside Libya, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
The large-scale exercise also includes 502 Libyan troops drawn from both eastern and western factions of the country, participating together under a single Libyan flag.
EFES-2026, organised by the Turkish Armed Forces, has brought together more than 10,000 troops and observers from around 50 countries for what is Türkiye’s largest combined live-fire military exercise of the year.
