Tbilisi, Budapest to establish joint police task force
A special task force to deepen police cooperation between Georgia and Hungary, focusing on migration issues, drug crime prevention, and police academy training, is set to be established soon, the press service of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
The agreement was reached during a meeting in Budapest between Georgian Interior Minister Gela Geladze and his Hungarian counterpart Sándor Pintér, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.
Both ministers emphasised the importance of strong, friendly relations between the two countries and expressed readiness to further deepen cooperation between their law enforcement agencies.
Both sides agreed to set up a dedicated working group in the near future to strengthen police cooperation.
The group will focus on migration management, drug crime prevention, and educational programs at the Police Academy.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of maintaining strong and friendly relations between Georgia and Hungary.
Furthermore, the ministers reaffirmed their readiness to further enhance cooperation between their respective law enforcement agencies.
